People were doing that yesterday.
I don't drink milk (don't like the taste unless has brandy or chocolate), and don't eat bread or eggs.
Rice replaces bread, and eggs are just too difficult to deal with at dinner.

I love making rice dishes.
My dad always calls it "gathering French toast supplies". Which has always been confusing, what do you do if the power goes out?

Hook up the inverter to the 33 gallon gasoline generator called my F-150.
It's enough to run the air handler blower motor and gas ignitor.
And then call the local electric co-op to put my neighborhood on their list of "places that need fixing"

Until it freezes into ice. That tends to happen. Sometimes.

Fair enough! I've been trying to talk my grandfather into buy a generator, but man is he old fashioned. I usually just go across the street when my power is out. One side will have power and the other won't. Still haven't figured that out.

Right, which is why portions of the street which are underneath trees were icy for 72 hours the last time we went through this.
Also, you are discounting tomorrow. From the NWS FFC:
Freezing rain. High near 33. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.2 to 0.4 of an inch possible.
That's enough to bring some tree limbs down.
